About Sublime
Sublime earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to all caps font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. It sits at 6 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. CraftedType Studio made it. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.
We keep it filed mentally under bold sans font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The numerals tell you more than the letters do. A sans with weak figures will undercut every price list, date and phone number you set in it. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
The listing files it under branding font, clean font, condensed display font and condensed sans serif font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. The wording people arrive with is sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
