About Soft Food
Soft Food is our apparel fonts pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Credit goes to Nuhatype. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Only 1 person has saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.
The numerals tell you more than the letters do. A sans with weak figures will undercut every price list, date and phone number you set in it. The obvious job for it is autumn fonts, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether apparel fonts was the description or the aspiration.
Type beauty fonts, christmas fonts, christmas in july and clean fonts into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. Nearby you will see sans, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. It is shelved with the rest of the sans serif fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. The wording people arrive with is sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
