About Old Western
What we like about Old Western is how little it tries to be everything — it does badge design, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf. The designer behind it is GraphicsNinja. The save count is still small at 3, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.
The numerals tell you more than the letters do. A sans with weak figures will undercut every price list, date and phone number you set in it. We would use it the way the listing hints — best western style font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
