About Flared
If 80s fonts is what you came for, start here — Flared is the plainest reading of that request on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. Only 45 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Credit goes to Graphicfresh.
We keep it filed mentally under 90s fonts, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The numerals tell you more than the letters do. A sans with weak figures will undercut every price list, date and phone number you set in it. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
