About Energo
Ask for activewear font and you get a hundred near-misses; Energo is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Funtype Co. made it. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. With 3 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.
We check the numerals and the ampersand first, because a sans serif with a weak set of figures will bite you on every price list and date. Put it to work on apparel font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
It answers to athletic font, block font, bold font and boxing font, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. Judged against the requests we see — sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. It is shelved with the rest of the sans serif fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. Related wording on the shelf: sans. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
