About Distressed Grunge
Distressed Grunge is our album artwork fonts pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. 4 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. It is GraphicsNinja's work. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.
We keep it filed mentally under badge fonts, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The numerals tell you more than the letters do. A sans with weak figures will undercut every price list, date and phone number you set in it. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
If you came in looking for bold font, bold sans serif font, bold stencil font and branding fonts, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. Judged against the requests we see — sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. On this site it lives on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing sans serif fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
