About Cranky Sans
What we like about Cranky Sans is how little it tries to be everything — it does advertising font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf. Only 4 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Credit goes to BILLI. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.
Put it to work on apparel font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. We check the numerals and the ampersand first, because a sans serif with a weak set of figures will bite you on every price list and date. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Filed as bakery font, bold font, bold sans serif and branding font. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. What this shelf gets asked for is sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. On this site it lives on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing sans serif fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
