About Thick Honey

What we like about Thick Honey is how little it tries to be everything — it does beauty font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. The save count is still small at 34, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Credit goes to andikastudio. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.

Our own plan for it is bold font, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether beauty font was the description or the aspiration.

Search for brochure font, brush font, bundle font and calligraphy font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. People after this usually search display, poster, headline, vintage and retro too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Put next to the usual requests here — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
