About Slow Club

Slow Club is our apparel font pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Credit goes to shineink.designlab. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 5 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

We keep it filed mentally under bold display, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

Filed as bold font, bold lettering, branding font and cartoon font. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Its home here is Display and Poster Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. What this shelf gets asked for is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. People after this usually search poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
