About Royal Queen

Ask for badge and you get a hundred near-misses; Royal Queen is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Only 73 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 1 review, which is better evidence than the thumbnail. It is putracetol's work.

Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. The obvious job for it is branding, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether badge was the description or the aspiration.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
