About Roman

What we like about Roman is how little it tries to be everything — it does blog banner, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. Credit goes to mail.skygroup. Only 2 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is.

If you want one use for it, take boutique logo font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether blog banner is really what you are getting.

The words on the listing are bubble pattern typeface, craft svg font, cricut display font and cute craft font, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. Nearby you will see poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. The wording people arrive with is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
