About Popcorn

Popcorn earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to bold, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. With 38 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. The designer behind it is Freebies.

Our own plan for it is bubbly, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

If you came in looking for curvy, decorative, eye catcher and logo, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. The searches that bring people to this shelf are vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. Its home here is Display and Poster Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
