About Monster

Ask for bold halloween font and you get a hundred near-misses; Monster is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Only 8 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. It comes from UDShopTHDesign.

Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. If you want one use for it, take cartoon font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

If you came in looking for creepy font, cricut font, cricut halloween font and cute halloween, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. People after this usually search display, poster, headline, vintage and retro too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
