About Metal Gothic
What we like about Metal Gothic is how little it tries to be everything — it does album cover font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. It is BILLI's work. With 6 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.
Put it to work on alternative font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Search for apparel font, automotive font, band font and band logo font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. You will find it among the display and poster fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are display, poster, headline, vintage and retro and they stay on this page. Put next to the usual requests here — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
