About Maverick
Maverick earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to abstract, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. The designer behind it is Pukka De. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. With 4 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.
Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. We keep it filed mentally under alfabeto, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether abstract was the description or the aspiration.
Type alphabet, background, calligraphy and cartoon into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
