About Jaw

What we like about Jaw is how little it tries to be everything — it does abstract branding, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. grifvixcolor is the name on the listing. The save count is still small at 1, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.

A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We keep it filed mentally under ancient knotwork font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

Filed as art book layout, art poster, avant-garde design and bronze knotwork typeface. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Put next to the usual requests here — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. Related wording on the shelf: display, headline, vintage, retro and slab. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. You will find it among the display and poster fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
