About Hat Character
This is the one we reach for when the request is branding fonts. Hat Character keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. The designer behind it is N Nakorn Creative. 12 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 1 review, which is better evidence than the thumbnail.
Our own plan for it is canva fonts, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.
It answers to cartoon font, classic fonts, color font and coloring font, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. What this shelf gets asked for is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
