About Hadney Buddy

Most of what turns up under beach needs work before it is usable. Hadney Buddy is the version that does not. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 1 review; worth clicking through to see what they actually said. With 26 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. It is Arterfak Project's work.

A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We keep it filed mentally under bold, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether beach was the description or the aspiration.

It answers to bold font and bubble, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The same shelf also answers to display, poster, headline, vintage and retro, so widen the search there before giving up on it. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
