About Groovy Magic

Ask for 60s font and you get a hundred near-misses; Groovy Magic is one of the few that answers the question as asked. It sits at 10 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. Kernova Fonts is the name on the listing.

A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. Put it to work on 60s lettering first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether 60s font is really what you are getting.

Filed as 70s font, 70s lettering, apparel font and boho font. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are display, poster, headline, vintage and retro and they stay on this page. We filed it under Display and Poster Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. What this shelf gets asked for is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
