About Good Bestie

The reason Good Bestie is here is 70s font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. The save count is still small at 6, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. The designer behind it is Minimalist Eyes. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.

Put it to work on 80s font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

The words on the listing are 90s font, aesthetic font, bestie font and bold font, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. Judged against the requests we see — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. Nearby you will see display, poster, headline, vintage and retro, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. We filed it under Display and Poster Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
