About Gadeg

We put Gadeg on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf because 80s fonts is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. 6 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. The designer behind it is twinletter.

If you want one use for it, take 90s fonts: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

Filed as advertising and advertising fonts. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. We filed it under Display and Poster Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
