About Erica

Most of what turns up under adobe illustrator needs work before it is usable. Erica is the version that does not. It is quiet on saves so far, so take this as our opinion rather than the crowd's. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Credit goes to grifvixcolor.

We would use it the way the listing hints — bold block font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

Search for craft font, craft svg font, cricut display font and cute craft font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. People after this usually search poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
