About Dread Forest
What we like about Dread Forest is how little it tries to be everything — it does all caps font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. Gracetypestudio is the name on the listing. Only 1 person has saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 1 review; worth clicking through to see what they actually said.
Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. We would use it the way the listing hints — all caps horror font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
