About Dereck
Dereck earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to abstract, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. It sits at 4 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. It is Pukka De's work.
The obvious job for it is alfabeto, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
Type alphabet, background, calligraphy and cartoon into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. People after this usually search display, poster, headline, vintage and retro too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through. What this shelf gets asked for is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
