About Daground

What we like about Daground is how little it tries to be everything — it does army, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. 22 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. It comes from Typia Nesia.

A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. The obvious job for it is black, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether army is really what you are getting.

Filed as bold, branding, display and esport. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through. The searches that bring people to this shelf are vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. Nearby you will see poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
