About Cuano
We put Cuano on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf because 8 bit display typeface is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. The save count is still small at 1, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. It is Viaction Type.Co's work. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.
If you want one use for it, take 8 bit font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether 8 bit display typeface is really what you are getting.
If you came in looking for 8 bit typography, arcade font, arcade game font and arcade gaming font, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
