About Charr

What we like about Charr is how little it tries to be everything — it does book cover font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. It sits at 1 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. It comes from grifvixcolor. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.

A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We would use it the way the listing hints — craft svg font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

It answers to cricut display font, dark fantasy display, editorial display and fantasy book title, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We track what people actually type before they land here: vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab and they stay on this page. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
