About Broken Bones

The reason Broken Bones is here is anatomical fracture font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Credit goes to squeebcreative.

Put it to work on anatomical skeleton png first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
