About Boosta Nose

This is the one we reach for when the request is 70s font. Boosta Nose keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. With 7 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. It comes from Maulana Creative.

A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. We would use it the way the listing hints — bold display — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether 70s font is really what you are getting.

Type bold font, bold typography, bubble font and chunky font into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. The same shelf also answers to poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab, so widen the search there before giving up on it. We filed it under Display and Poster Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Judged against the requests we see — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
