About Bomu
Bomu is our abstract typography pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. The designer behind it is mail.skygroup. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. The save count is still small at 1, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.
A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. If you want one use for it, take aesthetic typography: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.
The listing files it under artsy font, avant-garde font, bold display and bomu font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. Nearby you will see poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. What this shelf gets asked for is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
