About Blockhead Nova
This is the one we reach for when the request is branding. Blockhead Nova keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. The designer behind it is Headfonts. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. Only 18 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.
A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We would use it the way the listing hints — canva — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
The listing files it under decorative font, design, elements and font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. We track what people actually type before they land here: vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. Its home here is Display and Poster Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. The same shelf also answers to display, poster, headline, vintage and retro, so widen the search there before giving up on it.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
