About Black Rose
We put Black Rose on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf because dingbat fonts is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. StringLabs is the name on the listing. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 2 reviews, which is better evidence than the thumbnail. With 85 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.
We keep it filed mentally under dingbats, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether dingbat fonts is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
