About Billvane
What we like about Billvane is how little it tries to be everything — it does badge font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. 6 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Credit goes to BILLI.
Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. If you want one use for it, take billvane: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Search for bold font, bold typeface, branding and branding font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. The wording people arrive with is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. On this site it lives on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing display and poster fonts rather than searching for it by name. Nearby you will see display, poster, headline, vintage and retro, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
