About Balsa
Most of what turns up under apparel design needs work before it is usable. Balsa is the version that does not. It sits at 2 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. kulturrno made it. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is.
Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. Our own plan for it is book cover design, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
The words on the listing are branding typography, editorial font, header font and logo design asset, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. The searches that bring people to this shelf are vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
