About Aurox

Most of what turns up under advertising font needs work before it is usable. Aurox is the version that does not. It is quiet on saves so far, so take this as our opinion rather than the crowd's. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. The designer behind it is BILLI.

Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. We keep it filed mentally under album font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

If you came in looking for athletic font, aurox, bold display and bold font, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. The wording people arrive with is vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. It is shelved with the rest of the display and poster fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. People after this usually search poster, headline, vintage, retro and slab too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
