What we like about Amin is how little it tries to be everything — it does artistic band font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. Credit goes to Raholco. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. It has gone unnoticed so far. We found it worth shelving anyway.
A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We would use it the way the listing hints — band poster font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
