About Spree

This is the one we reach for when the request is 70s lettering. Spree keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. The save count is still small at 9, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. It is mail.skygroup's work. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. If you want one use for it, take 80s retro font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

Search for classic poster font, craft svg font, cricut display font and elegant display font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. Nearby you will see decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. We track what people actually type before they land here: blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. It is shelved with the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
