About Signpost

Signpost earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to affinity designer font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. The save count is still small at 1, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Suphitchaya is the name on the listing. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 1 review, all of them on the listing.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. We keep it filed mentally under affinity font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether affinity designer font is really what you are getting.

Search for affinity photo font, announcement, arrow and art and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. We keep it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts we have gone through. The neighbouring searches are decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it. The wording people arrive with is blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
