About Ryvian
Ryvian is our abstract typography pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. With 5 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. It comes from Bluebird.
Put it to work on aesthetic typography first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
Search for artsy font, avant-garde font, bold display and contemporary typeface and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. We keep it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts we have gone through. Judged against the requests we see — blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. Nearby you will see decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
