About Queenix

Queenix is our blackletter font pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. 58 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. It comes from Niznaz Graphic Studio. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 2 reviews; worth clicking through to see what they actually said.

Our own plan for it is classic, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether blackletter font is really what you are getting.

It answers to creepy, gothic font, headline and letter, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We filed it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Related wording on the shelf: decorative, dingbat, colorful, colour and ornament. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. We track what people actually type before they land here: blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
