About Pink Felt

Most of what turns up under 3d felt typeface needs work before it is usable. Pink Felt is the version that does not. It sits at 2 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 1 review; worth clicking through to see what they actually said. Gleb Guralnyk made it.

If you want one use for it, take abstract: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The listing files it under alphabet, art and cartoon — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. It is shelved with the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. The wording people arrive with is blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. Related wording on the shelf: decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
