About Ness

Ness earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to all caps design, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. Credit goes to mail.skygroup. The save count is still small at 4, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.

We keep it filed mentally under billboard typography, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether all caps design is really what you are getting.

Search for butterfly display font, capital letters, craft svg font and cricut display font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. Nearby you will see decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. Put next to the usual requests here — blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. Its home here is Decorative and Dingbat Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
