About Mordren

Ask for album cover and you get a hundred near-misses; Mordren is one of the few that answers the question as asked. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 1 review, all of them on the listing. The designer behind it is Reyrey Blue. The save count is still small at 3, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. Our own plan for it is alternative, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether album cover is really what you are getting.

It answers to band logo, blackletter, bold font and brutalist, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We track what people actually type before they land here: blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. The same shelf also answers to decorative, dingbat, colorful, colour and ornament, so widen the search there before giving up on it. Its home here is Decorative and Dingbat Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
