About Malam Retro Monogram
What we like about Malam Retro Monogram is how little it tries to be everything — it does alphabet, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. Only 6 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. If you want one use for it, take art deco: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether alphabet is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
