About Justina

This is the one we reach for when the request is 70s lettering. Justina keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. 6 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. It comes from greenvill. It stands at 5.0 out of 5 across 1 review, and we read the low scores first when there are any.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. Our own plan for it is 80s retro font, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether 70s lettering was the description or the aspiration.

Search for botanical serif typeface, classic poster font, craft svg font and cricut display font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. Related wording on the shelf: decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. Put next to the usual requests here — blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. On this site it lives on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing decorative and dingbat fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
