About Hearts on a String
What we like about Hearts on a String is how little it tries to be everything — it does anniversary, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf. With 19 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. Mary Kay's Magic is the name on the listing. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 1 review, which is better evidence than the thumbnail.
A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. We keep it filed mentally under birthday, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether anniversary is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
