About Grass
What we like about Grass is how little it tries to be everything — it does affinity designer font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 13 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. It is Heartcraft Atelier's work.
We keep it filed mentally under affinity font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Check which characters really exist: decorative sets often stop at the capitals, and you find out when you need an ampersand. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.
If you came in looking for affinity photo font, coloring outline, dingbats doodle cartoon and field grass, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. Nearby you will see decorative, blackletter, colorful, colour and ornament, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. You will find it among the decorative and dingbat fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. The wording people arrive with is blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
