About Froog-fears
What we like about Froog-fears is how little it tries to be everything — it does bleed, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf. The designer behind it is Illustration Ink. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. The save count is still small at 10, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.
A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. If you want one use for it, take blood: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
