About Drevakyn

Ask for band logo font and you get a hundred near-misses; Drevakyn is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 1 review; worth clicking through to see what they actually said. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Colourful is the name on the listing.

If you want one use for it, take blackletter font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

Search for blackletter type, bold display font, dark font and dark typography and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. Put next to the usual requests here — blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. On this site it lives on the Decorative and Dingbat Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing decorative and dingbat fonts rather than searching for it by name. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are decorative, dingbat, colorful, colour and ornament and they stay on this page.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
