About Design Elements

Ask for abstract elements and you get a hundred near-misses; Design Elements is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Heartcraft Atelier made it. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 42 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. We would use it the way the listing hints — affinity designer font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

The words on the listing are affinity font, affinity photo font, art elements and border elements, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. The neighbouring searches are decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it. We keep it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts we have gone through. The wording people arrive with is blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
